Terms & Conditions
Registration: Contestants must register on or before 10/5/25 in order to compete. The fee is $20 for an individual and $25 for a group. Fees are non-refundable and must be paid in cash at rehearsals on 10/5/24. Each contestant will receive one free admission ticket to the fair. The Idol competition is open to all ages.
Rehearsals: Attending Rehearsals on 10/5/25 is required. They will be held at the Chase City Estes Center beginning at 3pm. Anyone who has registered but is not present for rehearsals will not be able to compete.
Songs: Each contestant must prepare 2 songs. Each song must be family-friendly and approved on or before the rehearsal date. Each song must be less than 4 minutes long. If the contestant is not bringing his / her own musical instrument to perform the songs, they must be provided in mp3 format (with NO vocals), either by email to: Tina.morgan@mecklenburgva.com, by 10/5/25 or by flash drive on the day of rehearsals.
Contest Date: The date of the competition is 10/7/25 at 7pm. Contestants must be in place in the Grandstand area of the South Central Fair Grounds no later than 6:30pm. Late contestants may not be allowed to compete.
Judges: A panel of 3 judges will score each contestant on voice quality, technique, dynamics and stage presence.
Prizes are as follows: 1st Place- Trophy & $300, 2nd Place- Trophy & $200, 3rd Place- Trophy & $100, People's Choice- Trophy (The audience selects the People's Choice award by paying $1 per vote during the event; the contestant with the most votes wins)
